My Sustained Investigation is about transparency, and the investigation of transparency through the use of layering to depict cloth. My investigation began with revealing the subjects of my pieces using transparent cloth, then after altering its opacity, the opaque cloth could be seen as transparent. By layering cellophane, I successfully replicated the look of cloth, and then began to change its shape around my subjects, creating openings that let the viewer see both the subject of my piece directly, as well as through the transparent textile.

My investigation then shows my creative process, in learning how to replicate my process, while creating new pieces digitally. This allowed me to stray away from the physical pieces I was creating, and rather focus on the details, and quality of my work. I finished my investigation by recreating the first piece on my Sustained Investigation, using both the process I had developed digitally, and the style I had developed throughout my investigation.
